another no go.
my job coach just took me to the job interview at some hotel here in st. paul. we managed to get inside the hotel and we were talking to some lady sitting at a desk. she said that the guy who does interviews didn't mention any interviews to her but she'd page him. as we were waiting for him to respond, the lady asked us what job i was interviewing for and i said, "uh.. it's a night job.." then she said, "oh.. the night audit job? he never told me he had an interview today but i don't know.." then i said, "yeah because i said i'd see him today at 11.. i'm not sure if he responded though." and the lady took my resume from my job coach and she turned it over and her eyebrows raised a little and she said, "oh.. this is impressive.." and i remember it's mentioned that i made and gave a speech for mothers against drunk driving in 2014 (my job coach actually wanted to take this off because it's more than 10 years ago- so it's not really current.. good thing i didn't take it off). "i know he was looking for someone to do the night audit.. because he needs someone to work the desk and make sure all the doors are shut during the night because of the.." and i finished her sentence and said, "oh.. crime.." and then she said, "well, it doesn't get REAL bad here but we just want the doors closed for safety.." then she said after like 10 minutes of waiting for the guy, "i don't know where he is.. he didn't mention anything about any interviews though.." so my job coach just said, "well, i don't really know because i didn't really set this interview up but if he's busy.. we can go.." while my job coach and i were talking in the car on our way back to my house, she said to me, "yeah.. i don't know if i'd be comfortable with you working at a place with crime.." and i said, "yeah.. with my mouth, i'd get myself shot." then she said, "heh.. yeah or at least stabbed." then i said to her with a laugh, "well- at least that's not AS bad as shooting i suppose.. it depends on where you get stabbed.. heh." then she laughed and agreed. besides- the place was REALLY nice and had a cozy living environment feel to it but it wasn't exactly accessible. i guess i did okay getting around (i was careful and slow) but during the winter- there'd be ice and snow, so i'd more than likely slip on the ice/snow while making my way up and down all the damn stairs outside (even though they DID have rails). so i guess i'll just have to find my calling somewhere else.
